Dear Julie,
I hope you are well. I am writing to thank you for the marvellous moments I spent while reading your book ‘Born to Rule’. I am fascinated by historic topics and biographies in general and I have been reading about British history more regularly since I started living in London; I am originally from Portugal.
Besides the interesting fact that five of Queen Victoria’s granddaughters became queens in different European countries, I also learned so much about the Russian royal family and their ‘mistakes’. I was equally fascinated by Queen Marie of Romania and also had a particular interest in Queen Victoria Eugenie from Spain. Being our neighbouring country, we Portuguese generally keep up to date with news in Spain as well as the activities their royal family get up to.
Your book is a magnificent piece of research. I have written a ‘review’ in Portuguese for my blog (www.penseiquesabia.blogspot.com) and some readers have asked me if there is a Portuguese translation they could buy. Would you be able to assist me in getting back to them?
Once again, congratulations and I certainly look forward to reading more of your books.
Kind regards,
Dear Rubina,
Thank you very much for your message and kind words about my book, "Born to Rule." I'm very glad to hear that you enjoyed reading it. The stories of these five special granddaughters of Queen Victoria are really fascinating and I was fortunate to have been able to research and write about them.
Thank you as well for writing a review about "Born to Rule" in your blog. I took a look at your blog, which incidentally looks very nice. Unfortunately, there is no Portuguese edition of "Born to Rule." However, there is a Spanish version, "Nacidas para Reinar." Perhaps some of those who inquired about the book in Portuguese might be able to read Spanish. Here is a link to Amazon.com of the Spanish edition:

I have two other books published, focusing on royal women: "In Triumph's Wake" and "From Splendor to Revolution," this latter one has just been published this year. I hope you will have a chance to read them. They have very interesting stories in them as well.
I would be happy to send you postcard and bookmark of "Born to Rule." If you're interested, please let me know a mailing address and I'll be glad to send them to you.
Again, many thanks for the kind words and enjoy London (I have lived in London, but alas, have yet to see Portugal - one of the places I need to visit!).
Best regards,
Julia

UAU!!!
Beijos!!
:)
